At about 9:20 this morning, I saw these two safety-vested people walking up and down State St between Ward and Passaic, taking a picture every 30 or 40 feet or so - first of the rehab property from this side of the street and then aimed in my direction from the property side of the street. I wonder if he got a picture of me taking his picture. I wonder if they get double time for working on Sunday. How can I get in on this?

I'm just guessing this is connected to the rehab project and not to conversion of State St to two-way, which starts a week from this Wednesday.

Maybe I should start separate threads for whatever I shoot of both projects.

Whaddaya think, boss?

......or so The Record would have you believe - twice - in today's paper (assuming you don't know how to spell):
(Sasson would like this one)

In case you haven't heard:

This exactly as I found him in my building's trash. It's like someone positioned him so that the one eyeball would be visible.

Lucky for the photographer...............not so much for Lucky.

You know what I can see in that cover shot?

Remember these first two shots from 2015?

That's the boom that's circled in the last shot - a screen shot from this video - and it's protecting about 30' of Teaneck from an oil disaster.

This was a fairly sturdy double rainbow that stayed up longer than usual.

Of course, this picture shows none of that other that the sturdiness, but it does show midtown Manhattan.

People take some ridiculous selfies in the E Lot for some reason.

Check this guy out.

I took the second one from my car.

CBH is two stories. Double that and add a floor. I might get a little bit more trees, but the river is gone.

CBH was the main tenant at 395 Main/400 State - the yellow brick building on the corners of Main, Ward and State.

Every weekday, they helped vanloads of disadvantaged people who came in the morning and left at 3pm.

Last week, I started noticing some of the workers carrying a box of papers or files to their cars. By Friday afternoon, moving guys were carrying chairs and file cabinets out of the building and rolling them to a truck (first picture).

There were very few cars in the parking lot this morning, so that kind of cinches it.

Why am I concerned about this? Totally selfish reasons. It means that work will probably start soon to bring down that building, the Don Alfonso Restaurant and ultimately, the Hanson real estate office, which appears to still be functioning. When that all happens, a 5-story monstrosity will go up that will totally block my view of the river and a LOT of other things.

The second image shows the before and after. In the bottom "after" section, EVERYTHING in that white rectangle - including the empty white panels - will be the new building. It measures the full 5 floors. I'll be lucky to see the horizon

I'm not happy, but I do understand progress.

Well, maybe not.........

Got a little better shot the next day of the aircraft buzzing the courthouse (and poor Enlightenment).

I spoke with one of the involved parties yesterday and I'm told that everything has been settled.

In today's Record:

How many did you get to?

I'm not sure about Ramsey/Rt 17, but I know I hit all the other ones.

The type of tree is irrelevant. His issue appears to be that he doesn't want his property line moved unilaterally. Assuming that his opponent is Hekemian, would his 50-year-old fence supersede anything that might have been transferred by the Oritani Field Club, whose ownership of the property exceeds 90 years?
