You're joking. That's over 1000 miles. Details please.

Rumor has it there's some guy named Bob throwing an "End of the World Party".  Only problem is the party is on Sunday.

The picture taken from the plane has made such a stir I can't imagine why NASA has not taken any similar photos over the years. It is a unique picture with the shuttle breaking through the cloud cover but unless it's the first launch into a cloudy sky it does not seem that hard to be at the right place to get that shot considering NASA's resources.

I have seen plenty of those photos taken with Air Force and NASA  equipment and planes; but, this was a photo taken by a passenger on a commercial aircraft through a window with a cell phone camera. That's like hitting the powerball lottery.

Don't forget the curvature of the Earth!

The image is more interesting without the story, but since you asked, you can get the answer on my site in the third from last picture in the Hackensack listing.

Cancelled my dinner reservations at Stony for tomorrow evening. Afternoon barbeque with martinis. Hate to go out on an empty stomach and a clear mind.

From Bob's site:

from my living room, Hackensack, NJ 2003
Looking out my window on a Sunday morning, I saw this plane heading out over the Atlantic Ocean. I'm not sure where the shadow came from, but it looked cool, so I shot it.

I see.  It's not the space shuttle but you never said it was either.   ;D
