Title: Two Guys store photo (1972)
Post by: BLeafe on January 17, 2013, 12:06:06 AM
I found this on my HD. Continental Plaza opened in 1972, so the year sounds right.

There's some really bad parking by more than two guys going on in that near lot.

Two Guys opened in Hackensack in 1975.

I did some research and found that this image has been sold on eBay as an 8x10 by someone who claims to have acquired most of the originals of Reginald McMahon, who took this picture and who has done extensive writing and photographing of the area for the Bergen County Historical Society in the 70s. I've posted a lot of his photos on the BCHS board.

The seller has given two different dates in his auctions: 1972 and Nov. 1974. Given Homer's information, Nov. 1974 would seem to be the more accurate date and Two Guys appears to be open when he took the picture.

I love the VW microbus.  I think I see a Pinto as well.  No minivans or SUV's but plenty of "station wagons".

It would be fun to see that in high resolution.
