Seller's description:

c.1910 Real Photo Post Card Fire Dept. Team Hackensack? New Jersey by ? Photo Engraving Co. Hackensack NJ.  Nice early firemen scene.  I'm not sure of the Hackensack attribution with only the photo company as ID, but the writing on the fire helmet may give more clues for someone with better magnification than my loop.  Very minor corner wear o/w excellent unused condition.

I have no idea if this has anything to do with Hackensack, but I'm posting it in case it does.

Hackensack Discussion / Re: Tear Down The Fox! (and beware of Y2K!)

I remember shooting video from my apartment of actual Fox demolition. I'd have to search to verify the year, but I'm pretty sure it was 1993.

I just found this picture I took in 1991 that shows the Fox looking "abandoned and awaiting [completion of] demolition."

Could that article be almost 20 years old?

I agree with both of you.

Rest assured that there is something in the works.

Hackensack Discussion / Tear Down The Fox! (and beware of Y2K!)

Did anyone see the article in the current County Seat about the Oritani Theater? It mentions the Fox Theater across the street and says that it "now stands abandoned and awaiting demolition."

Was this article written 10 years ago?

I took this picture in 2004. The Fox is in the center.

Death to Fox air molecules!

Since today's a holiday and there's no school, it's time for another exciting video. Let's see if the Middle School crew became hackensacknow.org visitors since last time:

Apparently not. Oh well - I think they may become visitors real soon.

I've gotta admit - there's something to be said about this type of consistency. However, I don't believe in using such language in mixed company...............even online.

Seller's description:

This is an offering for a vintage postcard showing the Queen of the Hudson, The Mary Powell.  The card was published by Arthur Livingston, New York and is in very good condition.  It has 3 postmarks, one blurred, one is Nyack, NY and one is Hackensack, NJ,.  They are dated Aug 6, 1906.

Actually, the blurred PM also appears to be from Hackensack.

I wonder what the "Ridgefield Park Sta." in Hackensack was. ???

Another year, another floor.

How many floors is this building supposed to have? It's going to be luxury condos, right?

Seller's description:

This album is very clean with only very light wear, visible only if held up to a light. Nice shiny vinyl. Cover is in good condition as well, with only the beginnings of some ring wear at the very top and bottom. No split seams.

The only surface noise is at the beginning of Drivin’ South and during parts of Get Out Of My Life. Otherwise, a pretty clean playing record. I’ve not attempted to clean this disc with fluids.

There is an excellent explanation of these recordings on the “Drivin’ South” album review at: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/hendrix.guide/before.htm

OK, kids - here's your chance! This is worth it just for the cover. This should be framed and hanging in City Hall. Since that'll never happen, let me be the first to suggest that it hang in the Hackensack History Museum/Cultural Center or whatever the Masonic Hall becomes.
