Hah!!!   That's good - never made the Arlo Guthrie connection. Like Irons35, I can only make out Pacino, Hanoi Jane and David Crosby.

Anyone remember the - for lack of better wording- academic placing system used at HMS in the mid-late Seventies?

There were students assigned to groups (R,S,T,and W) if my memory serves.
Curious if anyone has any insight on this system. Any thoughts or reminiscences. Don't know WHY this popped into my head.

Well imho a 15 year old boy who doesn't care for the food that is offered in a school lunch program also has the option of bringing a lunch to school that he would enjoy, no?

I remember the butcher shop as being called Costa's. Wasn't there a butcher there named Sam also?

Hackensack Discussion / Hackensack Fire Dept.
« on: June 02, 2010, 07:52:47 PM »
Hello all - new to the board. Grew up in Hackensack in the 70's. Come from a long line of Hackensack firefighters. Any info or recollections of major fires, interactions with FD members etc. - would love to hear about em. To anyone interested, I  have pictures from the general alarm  fire that occurred in the Oppenhimer-Collins Dept store in 1960 (?)
Contact me offline and I'll email them to you.
