Title: Parking Lot PokéMAN
Post by: BLeafe on July 25, 2016, 04:42:56 PM
On Saturday, I saw some kids on State St riding skateboards, looking at their phones, hauling big backpacks and seemingly oblivious to oncoming traffic. I'm guessing they were playing Pokémon Go.

Seven minutes later, a man with all kinds of equipment and a BIG backpack entered the "E" municipal lot behind my building. He was coming down Ward St from the vicinity of Anderson Park and headed straight south across the lot to its far edge (first 3 pix). At the edge, he suddenly turned and walked to the east (4). He didn't get far when he abruptly did a 180 and backtracked west, still on the lot's southern edge (5, 6).  He then stopped for a bit to do..............something (7,8).

Once again, he 180'd to the east (9,10), but then turned around and proceeded north to his original entry point on Ward St and headed back toward Anderson Park (11, 12, 13).

I hope he was having fun, but...........well, let's just say that that might not have been my first choice of things to do or places to be when the temperature is NINETY-EIGHT DEGREES.

At least kids are getting outside again...only trouble is that they're focused on their phones instead of watching traffic.
