Title: Muhammad Ali
Post by: BLeafe on June 06, 2016, 03:45:04 PM
I've had 3 encounters with Ali:

1. One night in the mid-to-late 60s on 42nd St in Manhattan: no camera, but I got his autograph in the back of my little black book (remember them?).

2. Once again on 42nd St (below) in 1985..........signin' dolla bills, y'all. I would have had a great shot if that flying strap wasn't across his eyeball.

3. In East Rutherford in 1986 (it's on my site under "Ali"). He made an appearance at the Amnesty International concert at Giants Stadium. In the picture, that's not one of the stage crew adjusting Ali's mic stand - it's event promoter extraordinaire John Scher.

I have a framed print of the 1964 Ali/Beatles encounter (first image at http://www.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/Fab-vs_-Greatest_-How-the-Beat.aspx). I just hope Ali's signature on it is real.
