In keeping with tradition of displaying, or otherwise linking to, articles reference to the 2013 council race in this thread:

Hackensack Discussion / Re: Newly released: Hackensack History Book
« on: March 01, 2009, 11:32:50 PM »
The book seems to be a condensed version of their previous book. The Hackensack pictorial book was published about 5 years ago and had some very nice pictures of Hackensack past. The new book seems to be the writers last attempt at fame. They initially had a good idea but it has run its course. It appears to be 4 wannabes last chance at success in the publishing field. I also did not know Barbara Gooding ran for office, but I do understand why her attempt failed. Barbara,Allan,Theresa and Terry should pick up their marbles and go home.

I think retail stores.anything will be a great
improvement.There are some other construction
projects in town that will also be a major plus
to the community.

eric, you make a great point and your opinion
is usually correct. The biggest problem I see is
the roles are reversed in the BOE. It seems the
elected board is allowing "business as usual
to continue". The majority of teachers are doing
an incredible job. I think most principals are doing a great job also. Remember " The fish
doesn't rot from the tail". Let's get some strong
& fair leadership at the top & get rid of all the dead wood.I mention no names or even initials
as that seems to anger some using this message board. We need some new blood & ideas on the board. !

you are correct. however you fail to mention the
biggest screwball of them all.

The BOE  office makes city hall
look efficient. get rid of the dead beats and give
our dedicated teachers a proper & fair raise.

coziness, you have got to be kidding. he is a hand picked yes man.the boe is just an un-official extension
of the city council.do you think this mayor & council
is going to hire anyone who is not under complete and
total control ? sit back & watch, business as usual.

another grand rip-off of tax dollars.

the underwood scandal is only the " tip of the
iceberg". the mayor is in office too long &
is out of control.it is time for a change, 15 years
is long enough. john gotti was boss only 1/2
that time.

this could be the best thing that has happened
in years.the hudson county section between
hoboken & newport center is a big hit.this could
be "the shot in the arm" we need.

look at the corner home at prospect & anderson.
once a dr's house. how has the building dept
allowed that to decay ?.anything will be an
improvement.

that bus seems like the perfect way for the
bums & homeless to move around the city
free of charge.kids leaving the middle school are
refused a ride and our local vagrants move from
uptown to downtown with ease.

I can only guess the mayor has not decided what
he wants mr Tucci to do with that building.Mayor
Zisa might have a county school interested.maybe
it will be the County Seats new main office.

it is time for [personal attack deleted by editor]to go.he is a rubber stampman who comes to the meetings half in the bag.he is better suited for coaching the kids beforehappy  hour. he can not add 2 plus 2 let alone understand the complexity of a school budget. it is time for the elected school board to run the schools and not the city council & a retired maywood educator. can our highly paid board
employees handle the job ?
