The cloud bank looks like the space ship in Independence Day. Summer storms are great examples of the awesome power of nature. Was there any damage from that storm? We certainly have had some ferocious storms role through in the Summer and Fall, thankfully not many of tornado strength.

First off, the YouTube description's date is wrong (it was 8/21/09) and, yes, Hank, HackensackNow had it covered - right down to the spaceship references.

I don't recall that there was ANY significant storm..........and I'm sure there would have been a mention of it if there was one.

I just remember the big black cloud.

Impressive pictures. I wonder what the altitude of the bottom of the cloud bank was. One of my favorite free shows when I worked in Miami or Lauderdale years ago was to sit in my no frills motel on the ocean and watch the lightning shows off shore. Spectacular displays with non-stop sheets and bolts down to the water's surface. The only up side to the 100% humidity and blast furnace heat in the swamp turned resort that was South Florida in the summer.
