oh, I disagree that East Orange should be last.  It's amazingly quiet compared to how it used to be. Streets that were full of kids 20 years ago are quiet and empty. The street scene is vanishing.  It seems that most houses now are owned by senior citizens.  Population is down, crime is down. The building department actually does their job, not like Newark or Irvington.  Taxes are up, of course. Builders are eyeing land near the train stations.  East Orange has a future.

Worst place, I would say, is Irvington.
