iI just received an automated call from Cory Booker endorsing The Open Government ticket.  I am a Democrat but what the heck does Cory Booker have to do with a non-partisan, Hackensack municipal election?  Open Government wants to distance itself from the past 4 years of political connections. HUH!!!

What would you suggest for the rest of the tenants who are unable to purchase the units?  While they don't pay real estate taxes, they do pay federal taxes from their employment.  Those taxes fund HUD.

162 Rider, I never suggested that you vote for someone just because she was a female.  I just said that it was interesting.

Who is candidate #9?  Is he Joseph Barreto as indicated by CFOG literature or as the ballot indicates, Joseph Barretto? Does CFOG know? Does the County Clerk know?  Is it one "t" in his last name or two?

I just find it interesting that not one female candidate was chosen.

Prior to this year, Mr. Eisen has never run for school board. However, he did run for council in 2009.

I forgot to add, Hackensack has approximately 7000 votes to date but some schools have more than 25,000.  Please pass this information on to family and friends and remember to vote daily.

Hackensack High School students have entered into the Glee Give a Note contest which will award grants to schools to support their music departments.  Go to www.gleegiveanote.com.  You can vote once daily.  View the video and vote daily.  Schools with the highest vote totals will receive grant money.

Hackensack Discussion / Hackensack Public Access Channels
« on: September 28, 2011, 01:25:13 AM »
I attempted to look at the Hackensack Community Access channel through Verizon Fios.  I have done this numerous times in the past on channel 42.  That station no longer exist for Hackensack.  I am not sure if channel 77 is still working for Hackensack since I do not have Cablevision.  When I contacted Verizon, they proceeded to tell me that Fios never had a public access channel.  I was told, in fact, that there records showed that their channels go from 41 with the next channel being 50.  I told them that this is obviously incorrect since I had several school concerts recorded on my FIOS DVR.  Of course, they had no answers.  I recently checked with a friend.  He also no longer receives the FIOS channel.  I don't know who to call. Interestingly enough, the other public access channels are still showing for other towns.

I want to clarify a statement that I made earlier in this thread.  When I said that "I agree with Oratam.  After reading last week's newspapers, crime does not elude Basking Ridge or Upper Saddle River," that is the only thing that I agree with in most of his statements.  When we think so much of ourselves that we can label people who clearly need help in such a negative way, then maybe we should be the ones seeking help! Oratam, where is your compassion?
