I attended both Holy Trinity schools - the old one where the parking lot is from grades 1-4 and the "new" one from grades 5-8, graduating in 1961.
We actually had an 18 1/2 year reunion in December 1979 in the cafeteria.

Wow those pictures sure do bring back M E M O R I E S...especially the statue right around the office, where we all lined up and went into the school by it...........whewwwwwww what memories. The good old days, wish i could bring all of them back, never new how good we had it.............lol lol :D

Holy Trinity Church
On May 19, 1861, the first Catholic Church in Hackensack was completed on Lawrence Street near Union Street, and appropriately called "St. Lawrence". The ground and church cost $1,350. By the end of the Civil War it was decided to build a larger church building, and property was purchased at the corner of Maple Avenue and Pangborn Place (then called Park Street). The new structure was dedicated on April 19, 1868, with its name changed at that time to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity.
It was during the Rev. Joseph Rolandols stay (1870-75) that the first Catholic School in Bergen County was built. Around 1885, the first convent was completed for the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth of Convent Station. They began teaching here shortly after the Civil War iarid have continued uninterrupted since.
The present Holy Trinity Church building was dedicated on June 12, 1932, known locally for its Byzantine architecture.

I took these probably in early 1961. The 8A teacher was Sister Anne Roberta and the girl is Linda Guerra, whose father had a furniture (?) place on Passaic and Haynes that I think is some sort of religious place now. The smiling girl in the background is Kathy Gingras, who lived on Maple, up the street from the school.
Out that window behind her, I remember being able to see the motorcade for Richard Nixon as it went by, heading south on Main St. during the previous Fall's presidential campaign.
