Title: Pink and Ise Streets
Post by: Editor on January 02, 2017, 12:55:04 PM
Someone is asking me about the origins of Pink and Ise Streets.

I found this on Henry Ise: https://books.google.com/books?id=DZVIAQAAMAAJ&lpg=PA322&ots=AjIHKrmT1U&dq=%22Henry%20Ise%22%20Hackensack&pg=PA322#v=onepage&q=%22Henry%20Ise%22%20Hackensack&f=false

(He grew strawberries.)

I'm clueless about Pink.  I note the historic meeting minutes have no references to Pink St. prior to 1918.

Anyone?

Henry forced (?) strawberries, according to the article and Pink got the party started.

When I was a kid a family friend rented a garage for their race car on Pink St. right on the corner of Huyler St. I'd spend a lot of time over there, the garage later became Joe Williams Auto Body in the 80's
Another friend of mine lived on Ise St right next to Rt 80 in the late 80's. Such an odd little block off of Wesley St, two houses, a warehouse or two and the highway
