Funny, I was in WM yesterday for lunch right about 12 noon....not too crowded, was able to sit at the counter. There was a couple in there with an elderly man, who they told the workers there was in his 70's and hadn't been there to WM in about 30 years
I came in 1975 to start 2nd grade...was Sister Charlotte teaching when you were there? She was rough haha Sister Joan was the principal when I was there....I cannot remember the name of the Sister she replaced. Sister Michael maybe?
Given the style of the lettering on the building (I'm sure neon was def in the sign lights) I'd agree...what a cool time that must have been to have lived in. Of course at the time it probably just seemed average, everyday...only in retrospect do we feel that way (at least me)
Out of curiosity is there a plan for also changing State St to two ways? Also, can you imagine the photo ops awaiting for Bob when people fail to realize Main is now a two way and drive the wrong way on the left side?
Good example using the Main St in RP...as far as I know that's always been a two way. Main St in Hackensack being a one way for so many years I would agree the transition BACK to a two way would take a LONG time to get used to. Had it always been a two way like in RP drivers and pedestrians wouldn't know any other way
