Two cranes.

(although, it may be an egret).
1. Steel beams, a huge crane, concrete walls, giant blocks...............

2. I see something else. I have to start wondering if it's the last time I'm going to be fortunate enough to see another egret from home.

Hackensack Discussion / Five To One

Besides being the name of a great old Doors' song, it's also the ratio of unavailable Sunday Services parking spaces to trucks at the Second Reformed Church after someone left a moving van parked across five spaces on Saturday evening.

After he tooketh away, the Lord caused something to be bestowed upon his windshield (third picture).

"But your Honor, how was I supposed to know that people go to church on Sunday?"

1. This is a boring least at this stage. Access is limited to one flat side on which some first-floor work has been done - it's the same shot that everyone else has gotten so far.

2,3. The one saving grace for me is that the bays for the old Record delivery trucks have been exposed, reminding me of a shot my mother took of me a looooooong time ago in which you can see me, the bays and the trucks inside. It's actually kind of a cool story and worth a side trip (he says modestly):  (At the bottom of the page, check out the list of years/escapades/photos that goes up to present day.)

4. Does anyone recall that The Record's colors were blue and green? Was that for the Giants and Jets? I hadn't thought about that in a long time, but flashed on it when I saw this:

5. Desperate for something different that showed some work in progress, I could only come up with a Cat with a magnet picking up a piece of metal.............and that's at maximum magnification:

I'm sure I'll come back, but not too often.

I happened to visit the Ling yesterday and was wondering when they had removed all the artifacts - missed it by a day.

1. Where the plaques were

2. It's not easy to make a photostitch of the whole vessel from the park side, but I got most of it.

3. In this stitch, you can see the fresh truck tire tracks in the muddy grass and on the left pathway.

You'll have to scroll the stitches a bit.

doesnt bother me a bit.  he contributes more than anyone else in this group, so who cares if he has a link or not.

Well, I gave a damn because I worked there so many years, and asked the company that's taking it down.  Thanks, Eric, for seeing my point. And while I'm at it, does it bother anyone that BLEAFE gets to put a link to his photo business on his posts? What's that crass commercialism all about?

Hackensack Discussion / 9/11 sticker from The Record
« Last post by BLeafe on September 11, 2018, 08:31:12 PM »
While cleaning out a pile of papers today - 9/11 - I found a small envelope from the Record, dated 7/13/02. Inside was a 3" by 6" unused "We Will Never Forget" sticker with the famous Tom Franklin photo of the 3 firemen raising the flag amidst the rubble on the front and info on the back (see below).

It seems appropriate to find this today because the Tribute in Lights, which I can usually see every year from my apartment is not visible tonight.
