As you Nixelers know, the intersection of Main and Anderson was closed today and will be closed tomorrow. The reason is that the main Holman building is and will be coming down.

The first 4 shots were taken on Sunday, when I did a final walkaround.

I got up early today, thinking that they may want to git 'er done right away, but it was after 10am when I happened to notice the big heavy yellow weapon of choice grinding around the corner from Anderson to Main. "Oh no - they're starting in front!"

By the time I got there, the upper right corner had a couple of dings in it - nothing serious. In the next hour or so they kind of munched around the top edge on Main and then did the same on Anderson.

Lunchtime.

In the afternoon, holes were punched out where some rooms were, and bricks rained down on Anderson St. so at the moment, almost half of the bricks are gone from that wall, but the empty rooms are all still there.

One of the workers was flying a drone, so that was fun to shoot (4 shots). IMG_7326 - almost straight up - is my new favorite shot of the year...........after the kestrel.

More to come tomorrow.

Thanks, Eric.

I think you'll find that number will reset with each new Incognito tab or window. But you didn't hear that from me.  ;)

Mike, going incognito got me to view 10 articles, and then apparently I still have to pay. That'll be in just a few days, I'm sure.

I do appreciate you trying, and I gave you one "clap" point on your karma.

Incognito Mode in your browser can work wonders.

North Jersey's mobile apps allow a couple dozen free articles.

Adding outline.com to the beginning of the URL might also make some magic happen.

Best of luck.

I want to encourage readers and those who link articles for public viewing on this website to utilize news sources that are FREE.

www.northjersey.com is charging me to view articles.  I am unsure if this is because I viewed too many articles for free this month, or if they are now doing this across the board to everyone.

It's great that people are posting news articles of interest, but at least some of us can no longer read them.

There are other news sources that have news articles which can be viewed for free.  Hell, I'd rather read Victor Sasson than have to pay northjersey.com a few dollars per month. Go Victor....lol.  northjersey.com ise running an intro special, but the actual price is higher than 99 cents per month.

www.northjersey.com no longer allows people to read their articles online. There's a pop-up screen that says you have to pay.

Now I see why they stopped this website, years ago, from posting the full articles.

It's been pretty slow lately, what with the holidays, the weather and who knows what else, so the scene hasn't changed a whole lot. I had expected to lose my river view by now, so I'm thankful for the extra time and river photo ops.

12-14-18 (2) Dumping gravel and sparking the beams

12-19-18 (2) Except for the Cats, these scenes haven't changed in almost a month.

12-23-18 (6) Last burst of activity in 2018 (I hope the building stands up better than its sign did.)

1-2-19 (first 4 pix) Starting the year right by closing Main St to dig up the road and install sewer pipe connectors. (5) Driving backwards around Main/Ward/State with a load of concrete Main St road pieces. (6) Dumping some gravel near the road pieces.

1-3-19 Uber for Cats

1-5-19 Raindrops on the wires

1-9-19 Blazing sunset hits the girders and the Noches de Colombia restaurantís lights sit in the background shadows.
