Someone at work had those "Approved eclipse" glasses to look up at it. And of course some other fearless "twenty-somethings" decided to brave a non glasses look. I realize it was a rare thing to have this eclipse, I opted to just stay inside and pass by the showroom TV and see Al Roker at the "eclipse party" coverage in NY

I felt the 10:23am one at work, first I thought it was a heavy truck rolling down the street but quickly realized what it was. I didn't feel the 5:59 one, but of course all day people at work were calling and texting friends and family about it. Crazy stuff!

Hackensack Discussion / So old it's new (topic)

I was driving thru my old haunts yesterday and noticed amongst all the new street signs there is one holding true to my childhood. Even the Hudson Street/Maiden Lane "intersection" got a new big and bold blue one but my old corner is hanging onto yesteryear

That's great, congrats!!

A lot of beds will be needed in the new place...too bad Bruce couldn't have a going out of business sale  :-[

I hope they keep the iconic sign up there!

The Print Room one is a classic, I remember peeking in it as a kid but I never went there

Wow that's crazy...to the best of my knowledge I can't think of another one in that vicinity. And i'm not surprised Cedar Lane Grille closed, I went in there years ago for a nostalgic breakfast and it was terrible

If I had "patience" i'd be a doctor  :o

I looked for it but didn't find it, I'll look again  :o

I too like the nostalgic contributions (mainly what I post, sometimes things I see when coming thru town) but I think the small number of us that still post these days are the last of the breed that still enjoy that stuff.
When I look back it seems there were many members who chimed in, but like most things they fade after awhile. I enjoy this site, hope we can keep it going
