I heard a familiar sound overheard on Monday, but saw nothing in the sky because it was foggy. It happened more than once - almost consecutively.
The third time was the charm. I could barely make out something in the sky and took a picture in that direction. If you squint at the first image below, you might be able to make out that it's an Osprey and there are usually a few in the sky around Memorial Day, using Teterboro as a base. So I'm guessing what I heard were 3 of them arriving.
I heard the sound again yesterday coming from east of me and took the picture of one somewhere over Teaneck (I think).
I suspect you'll be hearing them more often between now and Monday.

Annual Osprey time in Manasquan ( the bar- not the plane- not the bird)

What - no pictures of Ol' Homer the Shore bird letting loose in Manasquan?
-
Nah, Ol' Homer preferred hangin' at the joints after making the shape at the docks in Hoboken.

One came semi-close to me after takeoff this morning (1) and then headed east (2).
Half an hour later - just before noon - I saw one over the hospital (3).
Around 4pm, another was headed back to Teterboro (4 - crappy shot of the aircraft).

Got a little better shot the next day of the aircraft buzzing the courthouse (and poor Enlightenment).
