You gotta think bigger than that.
Give one to every Hackensack schoolchild. They could learn a bit of history while they make noise with it at games in support of their favorite Hackensack school team. Schools could sell them at games to everyone else and make some money.
Can you imagine what a distinctive sound it would make at games if everyone had one, especially at away games? The Hackensack crowd would be instantly identifiable. What other town has something like that?
The Record sports department would run a story (that we wouldn't be allowed to post here), everyone would learn about Oratam, and then other towns would try to come up with a similar gimmick using one of their own historical figures.
It would spread nationwide and every schoolchild might wind up with a little more appreciation of local history while they have some fun making a little unamplified noise at games while raising school spirit.

By handing out tambourines, City Council meetings would move on from scy Fi and drama to a musical. Just a thought.
