Title: 29 Linden becoming a cell tower?
Post by: BLeafe on July 17, 2016, 02:27:21 PM
It sure looks that way.

I noticed 6 antennas on the roof yesterday (first picture). An hour later, the tarp was off the rear-facing ones (second picture). I thought that sort of stupidity was finished in Hackensack (my sympathies to the tenants of that building).

It used to be a nice-looking building to photograph.............it didn't take them long to screw that up.

Hopefully, the 10 years of exposure to a dozen antennas that were practically right on top of me - which ended 3 years ago - will make me immune to the two at 29 Linden that are now facing me.

If they put up more antennas, I'll post more pix.

I believe that the Board of Adjustment would have had to grant approval for the antennae .

Of course.  I went through that here in 2002 (I'm not sure, but I think it may have been the zoning board).

The landlord was surprised that I showed up, since the tenants were kept in the dark about the antennas.

The only reason I knew about it was because the First Presbyterian Church was notified, as were all property owners within 200(?) feet. An elder there knew I lived on top of my building and thought I would fry, so he let me know about it.

I wonder if the tenants at 29 Linden had any such notification.

I remember that one.  Fried Leafe.  The board is called The Zoning Board of Adjustment.

They've added 3-sided structures to each set of antennas to make them less ugly.

Doesn't do much for the building's symmetry, but it's a slight improvement.
