I hate generic postcards that just slap on lots of town names to the same image from who-knows-where. They may give out-of-area people a serene feeling about Hackensack, but we know better. ::)
Below are 4 such cards that just popped up on eBay:
-
Hate to tell you; but, these are actual scenes from Hackensack!
Card#1 - Prospect Avenue looking west from the City Hall parking lot before the hi rises were built.
Card #2 - Essex Street looking west at the bend across from where Rocciola's funeral home was located.
Card #3 - River Street under the railroad trestle after a heavy rain.
Card #4 - The Foschini Park walkway.
-
I'm waiting for Homer Jones to say April Fools.

I think the Fourth picture is the MIDDLE of Foschini Park, when there is a full moon and a light east wind water tends to accumulate.
