I had to go and drop something off at HUMC... Today for someone that's in the emergency room, they did away with all the street parking. ...we all know that  ... andI understand that. ...

So your forced to park in the lot .....I was there 28 minutes. .  It cost $8 dollars....all they give is 20 minutes free-time....your lucky if you can park and get to the check in desk in 20 minutes....

They don't validate. ......

It's just WRONG. ..

I too was a carrier. ....something like 45 years ago...
I inherited the route from an older brother. ... I had like a hundred subscribers in a route that spanned 10 blocks...mostly  apartment buildings 9 apartments .... delivery of papers right to the doors. ..
collection day was hard ..some tenents were hard to catch at home..
Needless to say I got stiffed. ...by a few....

The Record eventually  came along and hacked up the route sighting  too much for a kid...

Made good money and got good quality prizes..

The customers got better service from kids then they get now....for sure....

Yes I am a subscriber. ...

And I understand that there is a route "owner" that farm's out the work to individuals that deliver the papers. ...

I always get a Christmas card from the route owner , although  I prefer to tip the actual person that has boots on the ground. ..

But yesterday's and this mornings situation appears either to have been a job action,  or a plant breakdown. ...

That's what  I was eluding to with my  original  question....

I miss Checker Cab.....Have you tried to take a cab lately. ....it's impossible. ... they won't even pick you up, unless you are going to an airport. ..they don't want to move unless their going to make big bucks no more meter service. ....towns like secaucus, and Fort Lee ,Rutherford  still have cabs..... Hackensack. ....Forget it.....

It sounds to me like the Albanian Club which is now a Mosque on Vreeland Ave.( previously mentioned.)
 Might be Fat Joe's Childrens Theater from George Scudder's  book...it sure looks like it could have been a theater from the outside looking in. ..

Some interesting helicopters . And Ospreys flying in and out of  Teterboro back and forth  to the ships in the Hudson for Fleet Week.
I see people in The ospreys waving down to street level...
I guess  you have to be a friend of senator or congressman to get invited for a ride... I'd  love to .....
