Sad day, one of my favorite drummers ever, he never got the credit he deserved...many people didn't understand but those songs wouldn't have sounded the same without him

Very sad, I'll have to get in there before he closes and stock up!  :-\

Redevelopment? Is the building unsafe or something?

My sister goes to see Fillet a lot, and I've seen Beginnings (Chicago cover band) I have to say they are pretty great.

Regrettably I never took any photos of the front before they took the sign down, so passing by there today on South Summit I happened to see (what I thought was) the name on the side of the building...

Got one yesterday for my mother in law's birthday...Was better than it's been lately, I wonder if the Fallon thing made them step it up a little bit?  :o

Excellent collection Bob! My first car was a 73 Vega that my dad bought me from someone up on Summit Ave. He haggled him from $300 to a "measly" $275. The fender had rot on it (the joke of Vega's is that they "rusted on the showroom floor") It was gold with a black interior. My dad felt it was "safe" for me cause it was a little 4 cylinder and I wouldn't "get into trouble" with it. Anyone who had a Vega used the expression "Fill it up with oil and check the gas" It burned a lot of oil, like yours did I'm sure. As the months went on the cars got bigger and faster, and after a few accidents and tickets for speeding and racing my dad WISHED I still had that Vega  :o

I happened to be searching Uncle Floyd on You Tube and found his Uncle Floyd New Jersey and was happy to find his Hackensack episode, and a nice visit to the Record King

Nellie was a nice lady, she always sat in the same spot and often I'd sit down and chat with her.

Nice presentation, super expensive rent...as one would expect I guess. The old United Jersey spot is in the same price range. Still cheaper than Manhattan, probably Jersey City or Hoboken too.

I'm happy that Bowler City still exists. They never changed the sign, I haven't been in there since I was probably 15 years old. I wonder if the inside was ever redone

So it appears we're going "retro" as well as modern with this new building going up? I saw the sign on Main St yesterday and the building is under construction. No images are on line yet though.
Is this at the exact spot where Woolworth's was? I thought the original building was now a dollar type store now..

The Les Paul Jr I have is an homage to him...back in the days when he would buy them from pawn shops for next to nothing.
