Title: Staib Park History
Post by: Editor on June 01, 2019, 06:04:22 PM
I had done some research for a reporter doing an article about Staib Park that ultimately wasn't used in the article.  So it doesn't go to waste, I've pasted the links below.  Keyword search "Staib" in each file.  (Ctl + F).

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170632215.pdf (1927)

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170633684.pdf (1946,- earliest reference to “Staib Park” in Historic Meeting Minutes)

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170633739.pdf (Reference to Park Dedication on July 4th)

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170633790.pdf (1948,- Reference to “Philip C. Staib Park”)

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170633862.pdf (1949)

https://www.newspapers.com/clip/17605338/the_kingston_daily_freeman/ (Obit for Philip C. Staib in 1949)

https://www.ecode360.com/documents/HA0454/public/170633841.pdf (Resolution in honor of Philip C. Staib).

If you only read one, read the last one (Last resolution in the file).

I'm just curious if anyone reads this....was there a murder in Staib Park once? Or someone found dead there? I thought I heard something along those lines once
