HACKENSACK - City officials are set to launch what they're calling the "Johnson Park revitalization project."
The public is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the park. The $1.3 million project will include the construction of an artificial-turf soccer field.
"We're very proud of this project," Mayor John "Jack" Zisa said in a news release. "This project will expand the recreational facilities of Hackensack, providing a place for residents to play soccer, enjoy the river, or just relax at the park."
Construction is expected to be completed by July.
