House of Pizza
« on: March 27, 2010, 03:39:22 PM »
HOUSE OF PIZZA at Main and Orchard, will be reopening soon.  Twice failed, Frankie L's and Frankie's, (interestingly, the same owner TWICE) will open soon under the oringinal owner and original name.   :-*  Hopefully, the customers will rejoice once again with stomach filling sandwiches and good pizza, which has left a huge void in our neighborhood pizza place!

No.  Steve, the original owner was trying to get in touch with Mike who has had a hip replaced!  Unknown as to what his condition is as he is on disability according to Steve.  Marcello is being tracked down, but he may be in Ecaudor.   Joe, the guy who worked for Frankie (Danny) is in Florida working for Roma Foods.  Stay tuned.

No Mike or any of the old staff. The building owner reopened... He had " House of Pizza " in the early 1980's.

Also, next door where the Mexican Restaurant was, will be a  Grill & BBQ place... in a week to 10 days.

House of Pizza comes home

Hackensack Chronicle

HACKENSACK — Steve Branda is back doing what he loves, making and selling pizza on Main Street in Hackensack. Branda owned the pizzeria from 1989 to 1997 then left while the pizzeria changed names. He re-opened it as House of Pizza in May and has been loving life ever since.

Steve Branda is back to doing what he loves most — making and selling pizza in Hackensack.

"I’m so glad to be back doing what makes me happy. It’s great to serve the people of Hackensack again," he says.

The pizza shop, located at 840 Main Street, is a pick-up and delivery joint where customers can expect to enjoy traditional pies as well as specialty pizzas such as margarita, made with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil and thin-crust.

His top seller is without a doubt the "meataroni pizza," which is topped with sausage, meatballs and pepperoni.

Everything at House of Pizza is made from scratch, and the tomato sauce tastes like "grandma’s sauce." From traditional Italian fare like spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna to chicken and eggplant parmigiana and various seafood dishes, it’s all served with love.

"We’re a family business and we each make sure to put our hearts into the food," Branda says.

His two children help make pizza dough and drive the delivery truck, and his brother, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, can be found cooking in the kitchen.

Sandwich lunch specials for $5 are offered during the week, $6 on weekends and the throughout the month of October, wing specials are available on Sundays.

House of Pizza offers free delivery to Hackensack and surrounding towns and is open Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
