As printed in The Record, May 25, 2004:
HACKENSACK - The City Council has received a state grant of $8,375 to pay for the environmental review of a Linden Street property. The council has hired Malcolm Pirnie to investigate the tract, the former home of the Odyssey Body Works repair company.
City Manager James Lacava said he's not sure what the city will do with the property once it's evaluated. But he did say the property is an "eyesore" and that the city may acquire the tract so it can fix it up.
Before the city does that, however, it has to determine the extent of contamination, Lacava said. The city has reason to believe materials used on the site were hazardous.
