Sign in Anderson Park
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:54:09 PM »
Does this have to do with the big sewer problem of 2 years ago or is there something bigger coming?

You don't put up the sign after the work is done. The sign will be the back drop for when the politicos have the groundbreaking when they begin to rip up the street. Here's hoping the geniuses don't start work before Christmas -- but then again, why put up the sign if you are not going to start work right away?

It's called wishful thinking. After going through 5 months of that hassle and then being told that road repaving is the next step, we all thought that it was almost over. I can't imagine that something on an even larger scale awaits us.

There's no start date on the sign - not even a "Coming soon". I was hoping that the sign was some sort of a self-congratulatory reminder of what was spent for the past work.

Is this supposed to be the official notification to all of the Anderson St merchants and residents - a sign that faces an apartment building at 50 Anderson? I spoke to the pastor of the Second Reformed Church this morning and he's heard nothing.

I would hope that something about timely notices for keeping locals in the know was learned the last time.

More wishful thinking..............

I'm told that the area between Union and Main is being paved and would not be opened again.  The remainder of Anderson Street (to Summit Avenue) is being videoed and studied to determine structural integrity and what repairs, if any, may be needed.

I heard the jackhammer as soon as I woke up this morning, but didn't know if it was for paving or road opening, so I went out at about 9:30am and took some pictures.

I took the last one from home at about 3:30pm, so it looks like it's almost finished.

It's been about 27 months of bumpy road now, so enjoy a block of Anderson St, everyone!

I know I will.

maybe they'll fix the giant bump & dip that developed in the past 6 months or so on Anderson St. westbound crossing Park St.
