HACKENSACK — The city has expanded garbage pickup from once to twice a week in an effort that officials said will cost taxpayers little and address long-standing complaints about trash buildup.
Officials were able to expand collection throughout the city by changing schedules and routes in a way that did not require more manpower or overtime hours, said Art Koster, manager of sanitation. The only added cost will be for fuel, he said.
