This story unfolded in the Kipp's Bend section of the Hackensack River yesterday.
Since the storyline could range from an innocent tow of a disabled water craft to a caveman dragging his woman home, I'll just show the pictures and report what I saw. You can fill in the rest.
1. 2:52pm - A woman in a red craft with a white bottom (the craft - not the woman...........well, maybe her too - who knows?) paddles around Foschini Point and heads west in my direction.
2. 2:54pm - The craft suddenly appears empty. She may have been lying down to sunbathe or relax. A few seconds later, the craft is out of my line of vision.
3. 3:03pm - A man in an all-red craft appears near the western shore in the vicinity of Harley's Pub and White Manna Hamburgers - two notorious paddle-in pickup spots.
4 & 5. 3:10pm - The man and woman appear in their crafts just north of Harley's and promptly vanish from sight.
6. 3:49pm - The pair reappear, zig-zagging across the Bend in an easterly direction. The man's craft seems to have sprouted a sail and appears to be towing the lounging woman's craft. They then disappear behind trees into the northeast corner of the Bend.
7. 3:57pm - The tandem re-emerges near the river's eastern shoreline and heads south.
8 & 9. 3:58pm - They start to go by Foschini Point. The closeup of this image clearly shows the towline.
10. 18 seconds later - The last picture of the duo as they head for..........the repair shop? the cave? Costco?
