The Pine-Sol incident

I don't own any Pine-Sol, but there was a strong scent of it in my living room last Friday. It had to be coming from the stairwell outside my door.

I walked down half a flight of stairs and there it was: someone had been cleaning the floors and vanished, leaving the yellow bucket and mop in place for a few days.

I liked the bucket color, but not the chocolate-colored railings and the steps that had a yellow tint due to the sun reflecting off the yellow bricks outside the stairwell windows (which are obviously on the much-brighter left side), so I made an almost black-and-white image.

The railing also made it difficult to use PhotoShop's lasso tool around the bucket, so it took more time and effort than I've ever wasted spent on a photo before, but I wanted to see if I could figure it out.

It took a couple of hours, but I'm happy with the look of it.

Ol' Homer would not like to be coming home at 2 AM and seeing "Out Of Order" posted on the elevator door while feeling the urgent need to be using the facilities in one's penthouse dwelling. The available options are self explanatory.
