Speaking of recycling, does anyone know if there's a requirement that plastic containers - such as the one-gallon milk jugs shown in the picture - be flattened so they take up less space? I think all of the above could fit into one container if that was the case. I don't know if the trucks totally flatten them, but if they don't, a lot of air gets carried to the recycling center and less money is made if less plastic is brought in.
I called the DPW, asked someone about this and was told that someone would call me back, but no one ever did.
What's the rule, if any?
