1,2. Netting deliveries, unentangling and unfurling
PM:
3. Windy afternoon
4. What started out as a sideways "U", became...
5. ... an (almost) sideways "I", blowing in front of the newly-netted Ward St scaffolding. This necessitated...
6,7,8. ...a one-block road trip to capture this one-day sight from different angles.

9,10. From over a block away, I'm guessing that bricks were being picked out on the building's SW corner and cut to fit specific needs.
11. Meanwhile, over in the NW corner, bricks are handed up one at a time. I had to take a few shots to get this right because you can't see detail this tiny in the viewfinder of a pocket camera.
12. A tub of mortar is being mixed and a shovelful is taken out.
13. I noticed something strange going on up on the roof. It appeared that sticks or branches were being inserted into the roof. What on earth could THAT be? Some kind of garden?

14. Oh, I know! He's going to cover them with animal skins and make teepees to cover the builder's low-income housing obligations. What else could it be?
15. The 4th-floor workers await delivery of something that's still on the first floor.
16,17. Playing "King of the Mountain" on his truck until some oncoming metal scaffolding chases him away.
18. Calling "Thank you" down to the crane operator for yet another tub of delicious mortar.
10-2-19
19. The tables are turned (slightly) as MY building reflects the sun off THEIR windows. It's nowhere near as dominant as their red is at sunset, but - unlike that red - it WILL be permanent for their tenants. Revenge is ours!
20. So it's not gonna be a garden, nor will it be teepees for low-income tenants, so WHAT THE HECK IS IT?
Oh, wait.......a Western Union telegram (Google it) just came in from the site boss: "Those are the water lines and refrigerant lines that will go into rooftop units for the units in the building. There will be big units that fit over those pipes on the roof where air conditioning & heat comes from to feed the units below."
How boring. I was looking forward to shooting the teepee tenants and related activities on that roof for years to come. Oh well - maybe the big units will block out the blazing Foschini Park field lights.
Stay tuned.....and...
