Blaze damages Mexican eateryThe blaze, believed to be electrical in origin, severely damaged Potrero Grill at 16 E. Mercer St. A contractor removed part of a collapsing roof Sunday and a city building inspector will examine the tiny structure to determine its fate, Fire Chief Joel Thornton said.I feel badly for Felix, Javier and the rest of the Potrero crew.
I absolutely love this place. I meet with friends there at least once a week. Potrero serves the best Mexican food in Bergen County,- by far. I sincerely hope they do what needs to be done to re-open. The restaurant is a key ingredient to the cultural mix that is Main Street. To lose it would be very sad. Potrero developed a strong following over the years and I'm sure their loyal customers would patiently wait for their doors to open again.
